Blue Star Families Salute to Play

On Saturday, August 15, 2025, the Blue Star Families organization scheduled a Salute to Play event at the Glazer Children’s Museum in downtown Tampa from 9:00 AM until noon. The event is open to military members and their families. It was attended by 158 adults and 117 children. Attendees were allowed to visit the Museum for the entire day. Several vendors, including face painters, showcased items, such as children’s books, for use of the families. Blue Star also provided a table of toys which children could choose and they provide lunch.

Bill Yucuis, Waterman-Twining AFA Chapter and three cadets from the USF Arnold Air Society (AAS) unit, volunteered to support this event. Bill worked at the Check In table and the cadets helped stock items at various tables.
