Waterman-Twining Chapter

The Waterman-Twining Chapter is located in the Tampa “area” and includes Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, and Hernando Counties.
Waterman-Twining Chapter Goals: Promote AFA STEM education goals throughout the community. Promote AFA Strategic Advocacy Objectives with community leaders. Support airmen, guardians, and their families stationed at MacDill AFB and cadets at USF AFROTC.

Chapter Education Support
Support the USF AFROTC unit, especially with their Arnold Air Society component
Present AFA’s AFJROTC Cadet of the Year Award at unit awards ceremonies
Support schools in local area: Stewart Middle School, Middleton and Riverview HS, Tinker K8 School
Promote CyberPatriot and StellarXplorers competitions and summer camps
Select an AFA Chapter Teacher of the Year
Work with USF organizations to promote AFA STEM Programs
Present Pitsenbarger Award at MacDill AFB CCAF graduations (or Wing Quarterly Awards)
Promote AFA Education Grants and Scholarships with MacDill AFB Education office
Participate in Our Community Salutes recognition event for High School enlistees
Chapter Advocacy Support
Attend Tampa Chamber of Commerce meetings to promote AFA Strategic Advocacy Objectives
Participate on the Military Affairs Committee of the Tampa Chamber of Commerce
Contact State and National political leader’s staffs to promote AFA Strategic Advocacy Objectives
Chapter Military Members and Families Support
Promote AFA’s United Force and Families (F2) program by supporting MacDill Family Readiness Center programs
Support and volunteer with local military family support organizations, such as the Blue Star Organization
Support and volunteer with USF Office of Veterans Success to support programs for military veterans and their families
